Matched bearing kits by reel. Every kit covers more than the spool: worm shaft, pinion, drive gear and knobs, each position in the class that fits it.
Guide
After a few seasons it is not only the spool bearings that have done their work. The bearings at the pinion gear, the drive gear and in the knobs start to scratch too, and many reels leave the factory with plastic bushings where a bearing belongs. A full kit replaces all of it in one go.
The exact contents differ by reel. Every kit page lists position by position what is inside.
If your reel is new and you only want more distance, a spool bearing set is enough. If the reel has seasons behind it, feels rough on the retrieve or still runs on bushings, the full kit is the bigger step: longer free spin and a smoother, lighter retrieve.
There is no manual in the box. You should know how to open your reel and put it back together correctly. Installation is at your own risk. Bearings do not raise what your reel can handle, the upper limit is still set by the reel itself.
FAQ
All bearings for one reel: spool, pinion gear, worm shaft, gear supports and knobs. Each position gets the class that fits it. The kit page lists the exact contents for your reel.
A spool bearing set replaces the two bearings that carry the spool. A full kit also covers the gearing, the worm shaft and the knobs, and replaces plastic bushings with bearings.
A pin remover for the spool bearing behind the pin, plus the usual tools to open the reel. The easiest way is the Baitcaster Reel Tool Kit from our tools.
High spec. One small drop on each spool bearing and on each Edge bearing is enough. The Core bearings come greased.
No. Every reel comes apart a little differently, so you should know your reel. Installation is at your own risk, and the reel has to be reassembled correctly.
